spacer ISART The International Symposium on Advanced Radio Technologies (ISART) is a science– and policy–driven conference that brings together technical researchers, academia, business leaders, and government policy makers for the purpose of forecasting the development and application of advanced radio technologies. The focus of ISART 2010 is Spectrum Sharing Technologies. The scope includes topics related to the Hierarchical Access Regulatory Model, where secondary users access licensed spectrum on an interference–sufferance basis.

Areas of interest include, but are not limited to:

  • Spectrum Sharing
  • Dynamic Spectrum Access
  • Ultrawideband
  • Detect and Avoid
  • Telecommunications Regulation
  • Interference Protection Criteria
  • Susceptibility Measurements
  • GPS Susceptibility
  • Radar Susceptibility
  • Land Mobile Radio Susceptibility
  • Television Susceptibility
  • Cognitive Radio
  • Smart Radio
  • Software Defined Radio
  • Sensing Techniques
  • Spectral Estimation
  • Context Awareness
  • Applied Probability
  • Wireless Radio Channel Measurements
  • Noise and Interference

WAYS TO PARTICIPATE
There are four ways to participate in ISART 2010: (1) attend the conference, (2) present a session paper, (3) give a tutorial, and/or (4) contribute on the ISART Forum. The following are instructions and notes regarding each participation method.

Attend the Conference: The conference format provides ample opportunity for interaction and discussion. Each session will focus on a specific theme and be composed of four 40–minute presentations (each concluding with 10 minutes for Q&A). At the end of each session, the four presenters will be brought back for a 20 minute discussion panel. Attendees register for the conference on–line at Conference Registration.

Present a Session Paper: We are developing two session threads related to (1) Interference Issues in Spectrum Sharing Technologies and (2) Market Evolution and Current State–of–the–Art Spectrum–Sharing Techniques. Related papers should follow the manuscript preparation instructions given in Call for Papers / Author Information and be submitted online at Submit Session Paper. Initial drafts are due May 10, 2010.

Give a Tutorial: The conference will offer full– and half–day tutorials covering Fundamentals Underlying Spectrum-Sharing Policy and Technology. Tutorial proposals should be made at Propose Tutorial and must include a title, abstract, intended audience, list of topics, and biography of the presenter. Tutorial proposals are due May 24, 2010.

Contribute to the ISART Forum: This year we will also have an ISART Forum, which will provide a platform for people to contribute ideas before and after the conference as well as view the keynote, session, and tutorial presentations on–line after the conference. The ISART Forum is a group site on Facebook. If there are any questions please Contact Us.
