The ISART 2010 technical committee is soliciting contributions that discuss new technologies, research, innovative ideas, standards, and government regulations related to spectrum sharing technologies. Possible questions for discussion may include, but are not limited to:

  • What is the long–term forecast for hierarchical spectrum access?
  • Where is cognitive radio going in the next decade?
  • Are there justifications for changing current spectrum–sharing regulatory policies?
  • What are the current and projected spectrum–sharing techniques, standards, and protocols?
  • What are current and future applications for shared–spectrum technologies?
  • What interference issues exist for specific spectrum–sharing scenarios?
  • Has UWB lived up to the hype? Are there new killer UWB apps coming?
  • Is the UWB mask fair in all bands?
  • What improvements to UWB technologies are available today?
  • Does the UWB regulatory mask sufficiently protect GPS receivers from interference?
  • Should UWB devices be required to detect–and–avoid in order to coexist with radar?
  • What primary systems are best suited for coexistence with overlay devices?
  • What are meaningful regulatory constraints for detect–and–avoid devices?
  • Are regular spectrum–sharing device uniformity assessments necessary?
  • Can detect–and–avoid systems share radar/LMR bands without causing interference?
  • Is television whitespace being used efficiently and effectively?
  • How can network design, spectral estimation, or context awareness ensure that a detect–and–avoid system will not cause interference?
  • Can primary systems be made more robust to interference from secondary users? At what cost?
Author Information
All session papers should be submitted online at Submit Session Paper in Adobe Portable Document Format (PDF). For verification purposes authors should print the pdf file and proofread it carefully. No additional content editing will be performed by ISART editors. Authors will be notified of receipt of submission via e-mail.

Important Dates:
May 10, 2010 – Deadline for initial draft submission
May 24, 2010 – Notification of acceptance to authors
May 24, 2010 – Deadline for tutorial proposals
June 14, 2010 – Deadline for final submission
July 27, 2010 – First day of conference

Manuscript Instructions: Session papers should be formatted according to IEEE conference paper specifications. Please use US letter page size and limit the length of the final paper to ten pages.
