Abstract: This NTIA Technical Memorandum provides a single, comprehensive set of derivations of the mathematical relationships among power in a radio transmitter or measurement circuit, the associated incident field strength in space, transmitter–receiver antenna ccharacteristics, free space propagation equation variables and radiation hazard limits. An NTIA Electromagnetic Field Strength Unit Converter spreadsheet developed from this Technical Memorandum is available for download here.
